There are 18 species of penguins in total, from the smallest, so-called small penguins (up to 45 cm tall, weighing up to 2.5 kg) to the largest, emperor penguins (up to 120 cm tall, weighing up to 46 kg). The shape of the body of penguins rather resembles not birds, but dolphins, which indicates a frequent pastime in the water. The device of wings and powerful chest muscles are also designed not for flight, but for swimming. Usually the bones of birds have a tubular structure, which allows you to find a compromise between strength and weight, but dolphin bones are very strong and heavy, more like the bones of dolphins or seals.
